Looks like it is gonna blow up

Looks like it's gonna blow up NIKON D300 (50mm, f/3.5, 8 sec, ISO200)

A quiet evening spent by the water looking at the light display and industrial hum across the water.

They'll need a crane

They'll need a crane
This so reminds me of an old They Might Be Giants Song called “They’ll need a crane”

Rolling clouds

Rolling clouds
The other night just before going to bed I saw that the sky had turned all black and angry looking. Not because of the coming of night but a massive thunderstorm was creeping in. What else to do than to rush out with camera in hand? The pic is shot just outside of our house.

Contrail

Contrail
Contrails are a pretty weird thing. I was totally surprised to learn that they have quite an effect on how weather fronts form.

In this picture I\’ve tried to capture one of my favorite sounds which is the slow and discrete sound of a propeller plane crossing the sky. A bit like this

22 degree halo

22 degree halo
Finally!!!
After nearly a month without an internet connection I\’ve finally gained acces to the outside world again.
A lot has happened over the last weeks. My girlfriend and I have moved to the very nothern part of Denmark. Away from Aalborg to Hjoerring. We live about 10 kilometers (that\’s about 6 miles) from the sea, which has an immense effect on the weather and light. Let\’s see if that shows in my photos :)
This shot was taken on a trip to the sea on a freezing day. A pretty nice 22 degree halo.

Off into the mist

Off into the mist
Another shot from the other days heavy fog when it was at it’s thickest. There’s just something about fog, when it swallows and muffles every sound. Like being inside a bubble.

Rising up above it all

Rising up above it all
The other day most of the town was coated in thick fog, but now and again we would find these pockets where the sun was shining through. Very surreal standing firmly on the ground staring straight into a cloud. This is the smoke from a cement factory, rising above the fog.

End of summer

End of summer
A hard edited cloud. That’s it! Fall is drawing closer, and things are definitely cooling down.

At the beach

At the beach
Just your basic sunset-shot. I\’ve been experimenting a lot with shutter speeds and movement lately. Amazing the weird effects you can pull off.

Early morning above the clouds

Early morning above the clouds
Sigh…. archive shot.
I was playing around with some old pictures when this one suddenly turned up. Taken last fall on my way to the USA.

Edit: the googlemap position is pretty much a guess :)

On the inside

On the inside
Now this is a lazy shot. It taken while lying in bed looking out on pouring rain drumming on this skylight.
It reminds me of a pretty spooky Sheryl Crow song from Songs in the key of X

(Yeah I know it\’s a nerdy album to have)

Mmmmhhh…. beer

Mmmmhhh.... beer
In Denmark there\’s a long and proud tradition for making beer bottles as unattractive as possible. Most are made from dark green og brown glass. The bottles still can look beautiful from time to time. Like in a sunset :)

After the storm

After the storm
This one is taken about the same spot as yesterday\’s picture. I think the clouds in the horizon look a bit fake, but the are the real deal.

From the east

From the east
I mainly took this one for the relatively empty sky and that strange cloud formation in the horizon.
That the curves from beach and the waves match up is more of a coincidence :)

Onwards and upwards

Onwards and upwards
I took this shot and wasn\’t to pleased with it. It wasn\’t until I came home I noticed the color play in those leaves as they stand out in contrast to the sky.
